Is there a vegetarian diet?? I am a vegetarian and don't eat eggs, meat, beef, fish, and any other things that kill animals.... Because most diets usually start off with an egg in the morning.....It might look easy to lose weight since i am a vegetarian....We don't eat salads all day...crap, we have the dairy group and the bread, rice, pasta group to worry about........

To force my self not to eat, I drink water before every meal...
Breakfast: Usually cereal or two Toasts (from homemade bread) with margarine (I know, cut the margarine). The toast is with Vitamin D pastuerized Milk... Nobody drinks low fat milk in the house so we don't get it... I drink one glass of water before this meal. (5 to 10 min. before) Lunch- usually magee noodles (ever heard of it? Nobody barely knows about it) or some indian food which is very hard to count the calories... 2 glasses of water before this... Snack: Usually don't and if i do it's something laying around the house (no, not junk on the carpet, but usually umm.... chocolate or something...,i really don't know, i never have one) 2 glasses of water before this Lunch: Indian food you won't understand...But sometimes there's like coated potato in gravy, and indian bread.... 3 glasses of water before this so i don't eat that much.... 1 glass of water before sleep... That's 9 glasses of water.....Hope that helps (which i doubt), but i can easily skip dinner, but i don't know about anything else... Once when i skipped dinner, I counted up 1700 calories.( i ate a nice breakfast and lunch and also some chocolate as a snack.... |

Well............Indian Food is Way over the top in Calories....if you are eating Samosa............Pourri Bread.............any yogurt and cheese sauces.....just be careful with the calories....ok...now...
Do you like Tofu??? or Tempeh??? Do you eat Peanut butter...that may be a better choice in the morning with the toast....and maybe a cup of yogurt with blueberries....or raspberries.... I used to be vegetarian....about 20 years ago...oH MY!!!! I used to eat a lot of brown rice....black beans....avocado...hummus...My favorite lunch was....brown rice...black bean salsa with bell peppers, tomotoes and red onions with guacamole and ramine lettuce wrapped in a spinach tortilla... I would also have boca burgers a lot.... I would also eat tofu with cabbage and carrots, and chopped peanuts on a whole wheat tortilla... Couscous with sundried tomatoes and Feta Cheese...olives and pine nuts... Hemp seed Nuts are high in Protein....and wheat germ too....I would also make a lot of soy shakes too...like....Natural peanut butter bananas, carob soy milk.....and flax seed oil... I hope I gave you some ideas AT LEAST!!!

Cheryl, you gave me tons of ideas. My daughter who turns 15 this August is trying to be a vegatarian, but like all teens, they refuse to listen to their parents advice.
I was curious if you could work up a plan and email me it? Like a weeks diet, breakfast lunch dinner, snacks etc. That are healthy safe vegatarian foods. I'd be MOST appreciative. Her biggest problem is she eats mainly carbs. Fries, breaded foods, etc. And when she does eat veggies its all the same veggies, carrots and broccoli. I know this is most likely a fad, but if she is going to do it, I'd like her to do it right. tuse@cox.net Thanks again. |

Well, i do eat a lot of indian food. I thought it had a lot of calories... Well, another problem is that protien is lacked in most veggie foods... Causing many people who are vegetarian lack protien and i heard that many seniors being vegetarians had to eat meat...well, there was one lady I know who had the same problem. She HAD to eat chicken, but she would cry before she did. It's my religion that had me grown up a vegetarian.. But are there any high protien vegetarian foods????
I don't like tofu that much, but i'll see what i can do along with my diet... -Thanks |

I'm not that crazy about Tofu myself...........yet I would eat it if it was prepared properly....like in a veggie stir-fry with basmati rice or something like that...........
Okay.............Yes there are proteins out there.....Here are a few high ones............ Boca Burger is pretty high in protein soy beans are high.......... Tempeh Cottage Cheese, yogurt Beans, lentils, peanuts, peas almonds, walnuts, cashews soy milk.............soy anything for that matter Kelp, brussel sprouts, sunflower seeds Males need about 54 grams of protein a day............Females is around 47grams. It is important to get complete proteins.....soybeans are complete proteins... If you combine beans with dairy or beans with grains, or beans with seeds, or dairy with grains then you are consuming complete proteins... I hope this helps you!!
