I really love lifting weights and do not do much cardio.
How much should i do? or is cardio even worth the trouble if you lift weights alot? I appreciate the opinions on this one because this is something that has been bothering me for some time now! |

I also would like to know the answer to that question. I believe that doing medium amounts of cardio is needed on a weekly basis but I am still quite confused about how much this is really helping in accordance to lifting weights as well. Any answers to my questions would be greatly appreciated.

WELL< it really depends....I mean if you are a Power lifter....or a Body builder....your primary goal is to get HUGE....then not much cardio is necessary. But if you want to be lean, have low body fat, and a healthy heart rate.....lose weight...then Cardio is essential!
I recommend at least 3 hours of cardio a week...and 2 hours a week of lifting...As you get older these requirements change A LOT! I workout cardio over 6 hours a week...and muscle train 2-3 hours a week....and take in 2400 cal/ day... so It really depends on a lot of factors ..and YES it IS confusing ! LOL so I need your age, gender, height, weight for starters...then I can give you better advice! And keep in mind that Body builders and Power lifters attain their physique for a short period of time....so in the LOOOOOONG run , you need to do at least 3 hours of cardio, 2 hours of muscle training a week AND have a healthy well -balanced diet!! Hope to hear from ya CheryL : )
