Default Chest Pain

I'm 23 years old and for the last 2 years I have been doing a strict workout routine. During the winter I'll walk for 40 minutes outside and jog for 15-20 minutes inside, during the warmer seasons I'll jog for 35-40 minutes outside. I do this 5-6 days a week. 3 days a week I'll do martial arts stretches and exercises (100 punches, 30 front kicks, 30 side kicks, 30 stretch kicks, leg stretches, ect...)

Recently I've added push-ups and strength training to the mix. I've also began to feel chest pain/tightness. This tends to last for a few seconds then immediately goes away (it is not a constant pain).

A couple of years ago when I felt similar I had several EKGs done, an echocardiogram, and a chest x-ray, all of which came back normal. In a recent physical my doctor told me my heart and lungs sounded great. My lung function was well above average. My doc told me it was probably a pulled muscle.

Is this a common occurance among people who first start weight training to pull muscles in the chest? If it is, typically how long should I take off of weight training before I resume exercising?

Okay I'm so happy you consulted with you physician....I have a question for you!

Do you have Caffeine before you workout???? I do not recommend it if you do...Caffeine can cause all kinds of pains in your chest area....so think about what you eat before you workout....YOu should be eating a combination of Carbs and fruit before you work out...like oatmeal or rice...with blueberries....tablespoon of flaxseed oil......you should consume about 250-300 calories....

so think about what you're eating ....

Also , the BEST food to eat AFTER your workout is a banana, and some protein..like a piece of chicken or an egg.....and PLENTY of water...
okay I hope I helped you !
