Hi Cheryl!
I'm currently trying to get back into a workout schedule, and I'm wondering if what I'm doing is sufficient. I've been going to the gym three times a week, and running on the treadmill for about 30-35 minutes. Then, using 10 lb dumbbells, I do squats, lunges, reverse lunges, and calf raises. On my days off from the gym, I do ab exercises. I know that I will eventually need to switch up my exercise routine, but for now will this give me results? I'm not looking to necessarily lose weight, but to tone and define instead. I have been watching what I eat, and choosing healthy choices. Thank you so much! |

Well, I need to know your height and weight in order to give you more accurate
advice....I can tell you that your workout is fine in the short run....eventually you will need to increase your cardio over the next 2 weeks from 90 minutes a week...to 3 hours a week....Eventually.....Oh and you need to be working with weights for your upper body as well as your lower body....like chest presses, flies, back flies, bicep curls, tricep kick backs....shoulder lifts, shoulder presses.... Abs need to be done at least 3 days a week...for about 10 minutes...incorporating different exercises.....crunches, leg lifts, reverse crunches, double leg lifts, bicycle, scissors, obliques....OMG....so much to do! Okay....I can tell you how many calories you need if I have your height and weight and age is good too!! Cheryl ; )

hi cheryl!
sorry i didn't specify. i posted another post that you replied to (thank you!) earlier. i'm 18 years old, 5'2", and 107. i know that i'm in the healthy bmi range, i just really feel like my thighs/butt area is not toned at all. that's all i'm really aiming for. thank you so much! |

OH and It sounds like you are curvy and petite....like Jennifer Love Hewitt maybe??? I always ask clients to be realistic about their fitness goals...and I have them tell me "who will play you in a movie"....For example....Angelie JOlie could not play me in a movie...but Gwen Stefani or Kate Hudson could...so please be realistic with your goals...The best way to target your outer thigh and glute region is by doing body resistant exercises....with no weight...like side leg lifts, squats, plies, arabesques, front leg raises (seated, lying down, or standing) ....What are your measurements..b/c you sound perfect...so be Happy ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay you're 5'2" 107 ....and 18 years old...so Basically You're Perfect... Seriously! what the heck are you worried about LOL LOL !!! Okay Cellulite is on everyone....Yes it is! Trust me! NOw, it is more visible on Women because we have thinner skin than men....nice huh??? Cellulite is Also hereditary....A lot of is Diet...but some of it is a because of your genetic make-up... Now, Tanning over a long period time actually makes it worse....because you continue to damage your skin....making your skin More vulnerable to Visible cellulite...so tanning is a quick fix.....but as you get older.....Tanning will actually make it worse.... Cardio Cardio Cardio Cardio.....and eating NO FAT keeps Cellulite under control... and Drinking plenty of water!!! I'm not worried about you at all...You have an amazing BMI....so Please Celebrate!!
