I'm training for hockey but i'm getting frustrated with having to go to the local gym all the time and dealing with how overcrowded it is. I don't know much about gym equipment, but i'd like to buy some to put in my house. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot, but any advice on what to buy would be appreciated. Here is a list of the exercises I was advised to do that I can't do at home:
barbell bench press wide-grip lat pulldowns incline barbell bench press barbell military press tricep push downs leg curls calf raises leg press I'm looking to buy the least amount of equipment that I can so a combo machine would probably help. Thanks. Last edited by Durden44; 02-13-2007 at 05:33 PM. |

This is one site that I would recommend
http://www.bigfitness.com/ What I can tell you for certain is that an adustable bench, free weights, and a mirror are the basic appartuses you'll need in order to succeed... Now, you REALLY don't need a calf raiser..you can sit on a bench with free weights on your knees and lift your calves ...or you can stand with a bar, or free weights on your shoulders and do calf raises that way also. You really don't need a tri cep pull down either....you can do many tri cep exercises with free weights, especially if you have a bench....you can place your hands on the bench.....free weights on your lap, and do a tri cep dip while your legs are on a milk crate, chair or another bench.... If you're interested in increasing size...you will need to get a lat pull down, seated row, leg press, quad extension and hamstring curl....most definitely........... I think that the link I sent you will really help you! I love hockey btw ! : ) CheryL : )
