I've exercised before but on and off. And now I'm very determined to Excersice once again. So now I'm doing 10 reps of hands directly under shoulders. And 10 reps of Wide spread arms. I did 10 of both this morning, and now before i go to sleep. My Wrist are bugging, My biceps feel like I'm doing the right thing. But my chest, Is as if i weren't doing a thing. Any help or suggestions i really want to get rid of chest fat, And yes I'm doing cardio.

Okay ! You shouldn't feel anything in your bicep....You should feel the tension in your chest, directly under your clavicle...and your pecs....near your arm pit....and your tricep...back of arms....
Depending on what kind of surface you are on may affect your wrists...usually by doing pushups on a regular basis.....the soreness diminishes and you develop more strength , especialy in your forearm. A softer surface may help, like a carpet or thick mat. Now, I need to know your age and gender, I'm guessing you're male. Also, give me your height and weight. I would recommend you do 30 pushups slowly....and try to do 35 in two days...and then try and do 40 in a week...eventually I'd like to see you be able to do 50 effortlessly. I would recommend you do pushups every 3 days....and alternate other chest exercises too. Also, when doing pushups you can challenge yourself by placing your toes on a stair...crossing your ankes, lifting one leg...etc etc.......Your hands are directly under your shoulders....and they are shoulder width apart....when you lower down to the floor your thumbs are almost near your arm pits... Also, in addition to doing pushups...you need to do chest flies too....lying on your back...In order to get the best results you need to vary your chest exercises . I hope to hear from ya again ! First off thank you for the Reply.
Secondly my Biceps are sort of hurting because I'm doing 10 reps of bicep curls after i do my push ups, (Day and Night). And just as you said, Clavicle, Pecs, and Triceps are some what sore. I use the bare floor, But tonight I'm going to use a mat. I'm 16, Male, 6ft. 2in., and last time i checked i was 160 lbs. About the 30 push ups slowly, I think i understand Chest flies, I currently can't do because i only have one weight. (15 pounds) Unless i can do it with one arm and then another as i do my curls? By the way, My goal is to have a cut chest, In about a month or so. I don't have much of a chest it's that i have some chest fat, What most would refer to as man boobs, But they're nothing compared to what I've seen on other people, I think if i do some cardio and exercise the chest i can remove that chest fat. |

Okay ! I wanted to know your age to determine how much more you are going to grow...so you have at least another 3 more years of growing...and You are really tall right now....so You're probably going to be at least 6'4" and 175lb by the time you are 19...Your bmi right now is at a healthy range...you could afford to gain a few lbs...but again , I'm really not concerned because you are still so young!!
Your questions do not get approved right away....I have to approve them to the forum...I receive a lot of inappropriate messages...as you can imagine...so that's why you don't hear from me instanteously ! Okay....You need to work out your chest every 3rd day...so if you are doing pushups or chess presses on Monday....you should do them again on Thursday...IF your workout is easy for you , you need to increase your reps....that is why I recommended you increase from 30 to 35 to eventually to 50.....sorry if I rambled there. LOL ! The point is that it should never be easy....so always increase your reps , or your speed by slowing down...or your rhythmn.....like instead of just lowering your chest and coming right back up...try and bring your chest down to the floor for 2 pulses...and then come up...The exercise should always be challenging. Oh and I would suggest you get another dumbbell...and I'm happy with the weight...15lbs is fine ! Remember to stretch and drink plenty of water ! also, Please remember that you are still growing....and you'll go through many many changes....so be patient and take it easy on yourself ! You should be so proud of yourself with what you have accomplished so far physically ! I hope this makes more sense : ) CheryL : )

Thank you for the explanation regarding the messages.
Darn 6'4" only at 19?? I was hoping i would be 6'4" By 17. :P But anyways, It's all good. Ok, I think i understand a little better about the 30 to 35 and eventually 50. But just to make sure, let's say today is Monday, I do 3 sets of 10 reps, to hit 30? And the same on Thursday, And Sunday?? Sometime soon i will try to get another Dumbbell of 15 lbs. So i don't just get stuck with Push ups only. I have another question, Between the 3 days of push ups i'm not really interested on my stomach but i can work on it Tuesday and Wednesday and after wards Friday and Saturday? About me growing i understand, Just i would really, really like to remove some chest fat, It can tend to get really annoying. >.< |

Oh well HECK you can easily be 6' 4" by the end of this summer!!! LOL ! it's just an estimate right now....I'd be very curious though how close I get with my prediction ! : ) But , you can just as easily be 6' 5" ..and stop growing at 19 !! It depends on your genetics.
The workout example you gave sounds great...and you do not need to do abs more than 2-3 days a week...that's fine ! CheryL : )
